Hi! I’m Chris, the founder of Stack Shift. I moved to Nigeria because I’m excited about remote work and the prosperity it will bring. Our mission at Stack Shift is to help you unlock this opportunity.
We believe that to advance remote work, the biggest lever isn’t technical training. It’s access to powerful networks. That’s why we started Stack Shift dWeb - a fellowship program focused on Web3.

dWeb Fellowship

Last week we wrapped up our first full cohort with 67 fellows. There was a mix of developers, designers, product managers, and marketers. Half already worked in Web3 for companies like ConsenSys, Protocol Labs, and Messari.

There were people like:

  • Clement Hugbo - one of the leading Web3 designers in Africa
  • Binjo Adeniran - one of the co-founders of Future Africa
  • Seun LanLege - the principal blockchain engineer at Composable Finance
  • Ese Mentie - the founder of Disco, a self-sovereign identity platform, after spending over four years at ConsenSys

During the fellowship there were:

  • Five, fun in-person socials
  • Weekly peer group meetings.
  • Reverse demo days where companies pitched us job opportunities
  • Deep dives with leading protocols like Polkadot, Celo, and Filecoin
  • Workshops on topics like cold outreach and salary negotiation

And a whole lot more. If you’re curious, here was the full calendar of events.

We had an amazing time getting to know one everyone. Some pictures to give you a flavor of the fun:

Recruiting the next cohort

Today, we’re starting to recruit for the next cohort which will kick off at the beginning of July. We’re especially excited to include talent in Kenya and South Africa this time, not just Nigeria.

Because the cohort isn’t focused on technical training, we target people who are either 1) already working in Web3 or 2) senior enough to easily transition.

Applications are currently invite-only. If you’re interested, you can learn more about the fellowship and submit your interest here. We’ll reach out to schedule an intro call if it looks like a potential fit. We have a very small team and limited bandwidth, so my apologies in advance if we don’t reach out to schedule a call with you.

Our goal with the selection process is to curate a mix of participants that have aligned goals but also a diversity of expertise compared to those already accepted. Either way, we’ll keep you informed of awesome Web 3 events, insights, and jobs.

Hope to see you at an upcoming event soon!
